“Do one thing every day that scares you.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt
Why?
I got curious about the Eleanor Roosevelt quote. Why is it good to be scared? It turns out it’s not just me who wonders why it’s a good thing. Put that question in Google and you get hundreds of prepared answers, which have been viewed by millions of people.

People naturally fear the unknown. It's through making mistakes, venturing outside of our comfort zone, meeting new people, going to new places and seeing new things that we grow as human beings. By doing something that scares you, you often gain a completely new perspective on yourself, the world, and other people.
So often we don’t see the value of an open mind, a fresh perspective.
I happened to scroll Twitter for a few minutes yesterday, people were losing their mind because Jack Saunders (Radio 1 DJ) , who was presenting Glastonbury with Jo Whiley, has red punk hair.

Apparently do something scary includes being open that people might not always look like you.
They might talk different, say different, think different, look different, like different, dress different. It’s ok to be different to each other.
‘I don’t know any of these bands on this bill’ was the other popular Tweet. Maybe get scared and get to know them!
You don’t need to know everything about anything or like everything that anyone is doing. Maybe being scared is about being ok with that.
Imagine if different was the most enjoyable experience you have in life.
If we can get over our neediness for comfort, if we could embrace things that sometimes are different to our norm, if we could create space for being ok with the unfamiliar maybe we wouldn’t need to be scared everyday to grow.
